Client Stories

My Therapy Rooms first ‘real’ client…

Today was a monumental day – I had my first proper client use my therapy room. By proper, I mean not family! Though of course they’re great clients too…

I have been preparing for this day for 6 months, buying decor, moving furniture, tweaking this and tweaking that. I’ve been advertising, planning, writing privacy statements and contracts. Of course in the meantime I’ve been seeing clients in public spaces or their own homes, but today was special. To be able to open the door to my own little world and invite someone in was incredible, and felt like months of really hard work just ‘clicked’ into place.

My client today has been suffering from anxiety for a long time, but is currently experiencing a very high level of anxiety that is manifesting itself in lots of ways, physically, mentally and emotionally. When she entered the room, she was tearful and shaky. I was taken aback by the amount of effort it had taken her to turn up today – the journey, the expectations, where to park…

We practiced chakra work, Hatha yoga, breathing techniques and a meditation, followed by refreshments and a debrief. I even managed to work in some life coaching!

She left smily and visibly relaxed. I am absolutely amazed that my first experience of a client in my home was one with some impact and improvement in just 35 minutes.

My client bought me these incredible Sunflowers too; a flower that means so much to me personally. They look so beautiful next to my chair!

What a perfect day. I love my job
